Halcrow Group undertook the £30m modernisation of Tashkent International Airport in the capital city of Uzbekistan, with DSSR acting as consulting engineers responsible for the design of all M&E services. The redevelopment was completed in 2002, with the airport now serves more than 2 million passengers every year.
The airport is the primary hub of Uzbekistan Airways and features two separate terminals – one international and one domestic. The redevelopment included the design of new CIP and VIP halls, as well as a full compliment of modern airport facilities, bringing the busiest airport in Central Asia into the 21st century.
