DSSR worked with architect Hurd Rolland on the design team for the new Sainsbury's store at Braehead shopping centre near Glasgow. At 70,000 sq ft, the building is one and a half times the size of Hampden Park and Sainsbury's largest store in Scotland. The development creates 150 new jobs for the area – investment which has been welcomed in the current economic climate. Sainsbury's currently has 38 stores in Scotland serving nearly 600,000 customers each week.
DSSR continues to expand its Retail portfolio and is working on a number of supermarkets and shopping centres throughout the UK, particularly in the Manchester area and the North-East.
