CUMBERNAULD SHOPPING CENTRE

A striking example of Modernist urban planning, Cumbernauld town centre has been the focus of several key debates on urban design over the years, and there are currently various proposals in place to help reinvigorate the town centre with significant improvement of retail and leisure facilities.

As part of greater plans for the regeneration of the town centre, DSSR worked on the refurbishment of Cumbernauld Shopping Centre with ADF Architects, which involved the installation of new lighting, passenger lifts and improvements to environmental control systems throughout the mall. The fit-out and refurbishment work also involved the subdivision of a former Tesco store into individual retail units, with new P.U. and service interfaces.
