The new Radisson Hotel at Stansted Airport, designed by Aukett, links directly to Norman Foster's terminal building and provides 500 guestrooms and conference and banquet facilities, as well as a restaurant and health club. The hotel is also a major business venue having a total of 25 meeting rooms.
BAA required a building that was simple, elegant and constructed out of steel and glass to compliment the award-winning terminal building. The development was split into two phases, with phase one comprising 350 rooms with parking facilities.
DSSR was initially appointed to review the infrastructure of the site, however after a successful relationship with BAA Lynton on the Arora Sofitel Hotel at Heathrow, was subsequently appointed to act as the client's advisor for the Radisson Hotel development.
