DENNY TOWN CENTRE

Denny Town Centre is currently a disjointed and incoherent collection of mainly substandard 1960s office buildings and social housing schemes. The area has seen neglect over the years, resulting in an unattractive and unsafe environment.

In partnership with Henry Boot Developments and Keppie Design, DSSR formed part of the design team selected by Falkirk Council to develop a new masterplan for the town. The proposal involves the creation of a mixed-use town centre offering modern retail and restaurants, while a new library provides an important community facility at the heart of the development. Vehicular traffic has been re-routed north of the town centre to allow pedestrian thoroughfares to be opened up, creating a more people-friendly public space.

The new masterplan has been warmly welcomed by Denny residents, businesses and local groups and approved by Falkirk Council.
