Once a thriving port for commercial fisherman and international shipping companies, St Katherine's Dock in Tower Hamlets, London, has undergone major redevelopment over the past twenty years, the centrepiece of which is City Quay, the spectacular quayside residential apartments. The prestigious development has helped to drive up revenue in the local area by allowing for the creation of new businesses such as shops and cafés, as well as a resurge in commercial office developments.
The multi-phased project totalled 209 apartments, offering private landscaped gardens and high security underground parking.
DSSR was responsible for the full design and site inspection of mechanical, electrical, public health and lift engineering services, including extensive co-ordination details in close collaboration with the architect. The range of services provided on the project included comfort cooling, staircase pressurisation, concierge entry systems, door access control, site CCTV, sprinkler installation and interior and landscape lighting.
