With its iconic glass drum marking the entrance, the Clydesdale Bank Exchange in Glasgow's financial district is a refurbishment of an existing building to create new office and commercial space. Originally named Central Exchange, the building was renamed following a major letting to NAG Clydesdale Bank. In total, the building provides 100,000 sq ft of office space.
In addition to the full design and commissioning of mechanical and electrical services, DSSR carried out acoustic analysis on the project, as well as complex fire engineering services that were a result of issues that arose with the existing structure and the need for building code relaxations.
Design duties also included diversions for existing utilities to interface with new systems.
