VAUX BREWERY SITE

The former site of the Vaux Brewery beside the River Wear in Sunderland is one of the most significant brownfield regeneration sites in the North-East of England, providing a major opportunity for a mixed-use city centre development.

The proposed masterplan for the site intends to reinvigorate the economic heart of the city through the creation of a vibrant new office market, while also reconnecting the city centre with the river. A high number of new residential units on the site will help to promote and celebrate city centre living and sustainable urban regeneration.

The site forms part of a wider strategic plan for Sunderland that includes the adjacent Galley's Gill parkland and Farringdon Row.

As part of Phase 1 of the regeneration scheme, DSSR is working on a new hotel, residential units and a Tesco store that will be central to new development in the area, providing full M&E consultancy services including sustainability advice and BREEAM assessment.
