The Wirral Area Command Centre is a new £30m development for Merseyside Constabulary and forms an integral part of major dockside regeneration plans for the Birkenhead area.
The new 3-storey Area Command Centre meets the highest standards for operational and tactical support accommodation, and is a central component of the Force's area-wide communications infrastructure.
As part of the new development, a new neighbourhood station to the front of the building serves the community, and there is also space provision within the building for local community groups.
DSSR was responsible for the design and installation of all mechanical and electrical systems and in addition conducted several environmental and energy studies, as the Police Force continues its strong drive towards embracing low carbon technologies in their new line of 21st century operational facilities.
