DSSR was part of the design team that won the commission to design the new high-tech headquarters for Lothian & Borders Police after a rigorous OJEU selection process. The winning design placed a large degree of emphasis on functionality and creating an excellent working environment. The new building accommodates 14,000 sq ft of force control & communications space and 16,000 sq ft of support facilities.
DSSR's involvement on the project included specific design requirements for UPS, IT cabling, stand-by generators and Disaster Recovery strategies. The solution also accounted for a high-level of security to the building, with state-of-the-art systems in place. Energy-efficient HVAC displacement ventilation was implemented on the project.
