The new extension to the High Court of Justiciary in Glasgow provides 4 new courts in addition to a number of holding cells. In total, over 100 new rooms formed part of the £20m contract with the Scottish Courts Service.
Aesthetically, the building was intended to have a strong and heavy appearance to reflect the strength of the justice system. Despite its classical aesthetic, internally the building had to meet the highest standards for modern services engineering, with a strong requirement for top security and communications systems. DSSR was responsible for full design and monitoring of all mechanical, electrical and public health services.
With the new Glasgow High Court extension, DSSR continued to build on its expanding portfolio of judicial buildings.
