The new police headquarters at Defford for West Mercia Constabulary involved the upgrading of three buildings – the main site headquarters building supported by a workshop and storage building. The main headquarters building incorporated a number of computer rooms and specialist areas with heavy requirement for IT and communications systems.
Defford HQ was designed by Parsons Brinckerhoff, one of the world's leading companies in the development and operations of infrastructure.
The upgrading involved the complete strip-out and replacement of existing services. New services supplied by DSSR included standby generators, UPS systems and aspirating and fire extinguishing systems to the computer rooms.
