DSSR worked on the new Magistrates Court building for Nottinghamshire County Council, which comprised 7 large courtrooms split over three blocks, arranged around a glazed central atrium. This configuration allowed natural light to be drawn deep into the building, creating a much brighter circulation space – a welcome addition to what is often an inhospitable courtroom environment. The building houses other support functions such as office space, court holding facilities and public areas.
DSSR was responsible for the design and supervision of all mechanical, electrical and public health services. Specialist services included lift engineering, Category 5 structured data cabling, VAV air handling and direct digital controls.
