DSSR is an award winning practice, which has grown significantly.   Established since 1945 we are specialists in Building Services and with 5 offices, are involved in some of the most exciting projects in the UK, working with a number of signature architects.

Continual Professional Development

Under normal circumstances it is DSSR policy to recruit trained technical employees. CPD is regarded as important to ongoing development and competence.

Structured Development Programmes for Trainee and Graduate Engineers

The longer term future of DSSR is dependent upon a source of technical expertise growing within the business. To this end the Firm places great emphasis on appropriate professional development for technical staff. Trainee engineers are offered a structured job experience dovetailing with sponsored academic support.

Graduate Engineers obtain relevant job experience leading to Incorporated Engineer and, in certain cases, Chartered Engineer status. Both structures lead to appropriate externally recognised qualifications.

  • Harrogate      - Senior/ Executive Electrical Engineer (Knowledge of NHS/Hospital work preferred)
  • Glasgow        - Junior/Senior Mechanical Engineers,Public Health Engineer,Mechanical Engineer,CAD Operator(with at least 1 years' relevant experience)
  • London          - Senior/Executive Level Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health Design Engineers(with at least 5 Years relevant experience)
  • Manchester  - Junior Electrical & Mechanical Engineers

Graduate Mechanical & Electrical Engineers

DSSR is seeking to recruit graduate Mechanical and Electrical engineers who have a desire to be trained as Building Services engineers in an environment that encourages the attainment of professional qualifications and progression of careers to the highest levels within the Practice.

Applications are now invited for our 2008 graduate vacancies within our Glasgow, London and Manchester offices.

Graduates can expect to follow a structured training programme that is approved by The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) to ensure that they have the foundations for achieving Chartered Engineer status. In addition, DSSR have senior personnel qualified as corporate members with the IMechE and IEE who are able to act as mentors and application sponsors.

DSSR plans to grow substantially in the next 5 years and it is intended that our graduates benefit from this growth.

The scope of duties that are undertaken by our graduates covers the full range of building services engineering systems including design, specification and supervision of the installation of air-conditioning, heating, ventilation, lighting, power distribution, fire protection and building management systems for a range of projects in commercial, healthcare and transportation sectors.

The firm annually recruit trainee engineers, who are offered a structured 5 year programme with extensive on hands experience and sponsored academic support.
