Description
A new 21st century terminal development at BAA Heathrow Airport. The terminal complex features a major Public Transport Interchange with access via public transport being a major consideration, high volume public spaces and quality environments for departing, arrivals and transit passengers. The new terminal is one of the largest M&E installations ever undertaken in the UK. 60% of the services are being made and assembled off-site using half of the site labour normally required and a shorter build programme.

Description
The £50 million air traffic control tower will be more than double the height of the existing tower. It will offer controllers uninterrupted views of aircraft on the airfield including the new Terminal 5 campus and uniquely will be located airside. The new air traffic control tower will feature the latest technology and offer Heathrow’s controllers a 360 degree cone of vision - the best viewing capability of any control tower in the world.

Description
Aer Rianta commissioned the new terminal building and supporting infrastructure in response to increasing passenger figures. The new €89 million terminal facility is being built to the North of the existing terminal and will total 25,000 m2 – more than double the existing passenger terminal. The terminal building is to be constructed of glass, steel and timber to make the best use of natural light and maximise the space available in the terminal with displacement ventilation being provided in the public spaces to enhance passenger comfort.

Description
State-of-the-Art Public Transport Interchange and first heated bus station in Britain incorporating 12 Bus Stands. ‘Real Time’ bus information display system linked into North East of England Bus Operators System and fully automatic doors system, where doors only open when there is a bus on the stand.
